A little self portrait for today

Bedford, NH (PRWEB) August 29, 2012 Haigh-Farr, a Business Unit within the Vitec Group, and the world leader in design, development and manufacturing of flight-body antennas for defense, space and commercial applications, congratulates NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on the successful landing of the MSL (a.k.a. Curiosity) Vehicle on Mars. Haigh-Farr designed and manufactured the four-segment WraparoundTM Antenna at its Bedford, NH facility. At NASAs Pasadena, CA facility, the antenna was installed on top of the spacecraft that contained the Rover.
We are extremely proud to be a part of this history making event and look forward to participating in future space missions with JPL and other members of the NASA team, says David Farr, CEO of Haigh-Farr. This is another major milestone in space exploration and will support the continued investment in increasing our understanding of the universe beyond Earth.
Haigh-Farrs Wraparound Antenna system was used during the crucial entry, descent and landing (EDL) phase of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Mission on August 5-6, 2012. Its objective was to provide mission-critical telemetry data back to NASA engineers as to what the Rover was experiencing as it made its descent onto Mars. MSL was the first planetary mission to use precision-guided lifting trajectory landing techniques. It included the ability to convey the largest amount of data ever obtained throughout the EDL process during a non-Earth entry.
Haigh-Farrs Wraparound Antenna system was previously used successfully on the NASA Phoenix Lander during EDL. The antenna consists of four segments individually mounted on the parachute cone and provides nearly full spherical coverage.

Stocktrek Images has created an online display of Mars photographs and futuristic Mars mission images in response to the overwhelming interest in the successful landing of NASAs Curiosity rover. The company will offer a wide array of stunning Mars photographs and illustrations that are now available to the public. The images consist of both past missions as well as imagined future missions to the red planet.
Ryan Rossotto, Stocktrek Images president, stated that, Everyone at Stocktrek has a great deal of interest in the NASA Curiosity rover. The successful landing of the rover after its 352 million mile flight is a wonderful testament to the hundreds upon hundreds of hours the engineers and scientists at NASA have put into this endeavor. Stocktrek Images is delighted to put together a collection to both honor this feat as well as showcase the possibilities and concepts in future space travel and exploration.
Both the scientific community and general public at large have watched the NASA Curiosity rover for the past year with a great deal of anticipation. The rover will be used to study the geological composition of the Red Planet and attempt to unravel some of the mysteries that have yet to be solved. It is also considered the first step towards manned missions to Mars.
While manned missions to Mars may be a number of years off in the future, Rossotto says that, It is exciting to explore the possible future that space travel and mankind has in store when it comes to space exploration. The Curiosity rover is truly a glimpse into the future and gives everyone a renewed interest in space exploration. Deep space habitation will soon be a reality through the use of advanced spacecraft and spacesuits. Rossotto went on to explain that space exploration and manned Mars missions will be made possible by innovations such as the Orion Crew Module.

SmokingStrobes.com - In this video you will learn about a very flexible portrait lighting setup. You can use in a photo studio or on location. It works with a bright background as well as weith a dark background. For this lighting setup you only need some speedlights and shoot through umbrellas. This lighting setup produces classic beauty portraits like you need for magazines and for skin care advertisements. By balancing the light left and right you can choose how much you want the features of your model stand out or being flattened by even, frontal light. This is one of my favorite lighting setups. Let me know below the video what you think about it. Please click like if you like ;-) I wish you good light! — Michael
